During a phone call with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, Türkiye’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, stated that Türkiye is prepared to host a new round of negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine. A source from the Türkiye Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that during a phone call with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, Türkiye’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, stated that Türkiye is prepared to host a new round of negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
According to RIA Novosti sources, Minister Fidan reiterated that Türkiye has once again confirmed its readiness to host the next round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. In a source from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated, "Fidan also discussed with Lavrov measures to end conflicts in the Middle East and the topic of returning to the negotiation process. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on steps that could be taken to swiftly end the wars in the region and return to the negotiation process." According to the source, Fidan emphasised the risks posed by the continuation of conflicts to both regional countries and the international order.
