Speaking at a joint press conference following a tête-à-tête with President Joseph Aoun of Lebanon in Ankara, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Türkiye supports Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity and will maintain its humanitarian and technical assistance to Lebanon.
Pointing out that Lebanon has long been a brotherly country that has suffered the greatest damage as an arena of rivalry and conflict for some powers in the region, Erdoğan said, "We maintain our strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the friendly and brotherly Lebanon that we have strong ties with. Lebanon is one of the countries that will benefit most from the stability, peace and cooperation we have aimed for in the Middle East. We will persist in our assistance to ensure that Lebanon's institutional capacity is enhanced. We will continue to provide humanitarian and technical aid to Lebanon... Our support for the Lebanese Armed Forces will also continue."
