President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated national boxer Busenaz Sürmeneli on winning the gold medal at the 2026 European Boxing Championships.
President Erdoğan spoke with European champion Busenaz Sürmeneli on Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Hamza Yerlikaya’s phone. Yerlikaya attended the final bout in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Congratulating Busenaz Sürmeneli on her achievement, President Erdoğan said, “Well done, you did a great job. I look forward to seeing you succeed at the Olympics as well. Congratulations, and please convey my regards to your family.”
The national boxer also thanked President Erdoğan.
