Defence Industry Media Summit will be held under the auspices of the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications and with the support of the Presidency's Defence Industry Agency on March 20 at Teknopark Ankara.
In the written statement made by the Defence Industry Research Centre (SASAM), the following information about the summit was given:
"Intending to fill an important gap and need in the Turkish defence industry, the summit has three aims. The first aim is to bring together the corporate communication units of defence industry companies, defence industry sector press, and national press professionals to get acquainted and to mediate the sharing of experience and exchange of ideas.
The second aim is to discuss issues such as marketing communications in the defence industry, the defence industry news' contribution to exports, and the intelligence value of defence industry news, with panels, interviews and workshops to be held.
The third aim is to foster an environment in which defence industry companies can express their expectations of the media, and the media can express its expectations of defence industry companies. With these objectives, the summit will facilitate the parties' ability to communicate more effectively and reach the desired level of news quality."
Companies and press organisations will hold meetings at their booths, while those without a booth will hold meetings in dedicated B2B (business-to-business) areas.
Managers of defence industry businesses, executives of corporate communication and business development units, managers and employees of national press organisations, and representatives of press organisations operating in the defence industry sector will attend the summit.
Important issues related to the communication, business development and export of the defence industry will be addressed in panels and interviews held as part of the summit, which will bring together the corporate communication and business development units of defence industry companies, the sector press, and the national press.
