Presidency’s Directorate of Communications releases ‘Victory of Manzikert’ video on 950th anniversary of conquest

Presidency's Directorate of Communications released a video to mark the 950th anniversary of the Victory of Manzikert, which opened the gates of Anatolia to the Turks.

Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun posted a video to mark the anniversary of the conquest on his social media accounts.

Director of Communications Altun stated, "On the 950th anniversary of the Victory of Manzikert, I commemorate the Anatolian Conqueror, the great commander, Sultan Alparslan and our noble martyrs with mercy and gratitude."

The video, which lasts 1 minute and 45 seconds, is titled, "If Anatolia exists, we exist".

The video begins with Sultan Alparslan’s declaration before the great victory that said, "Either I will be victorious and reach my goal, or I will become a martyr and go to heaven", depicting the struggle for Anatolia from the Victory of Manzikert to the National War of Independence.

The video concludes with the following words: "Our nation, which embraces and treasures this piece of land that is unique with its nature, history, and people, without losing sight of the enthusiasm of 950 years ago, feels the joy of claiming Anatolia a homeland. Happy anniversary of Victory of Manzikert."
