President Erdoğan, NATO Secretary General Rutte talk over phone

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

The call addressed the issues on NATO’s agenda as well as regional and global developments.

President Erdoğan said the Iran-related process is heading toward a geostrategic deadlock and urged the international community to step up efforts to end the war.

Referring to NATO’s support for Türkiye’s air defence, President Erdoğan underlined that the solidarity demonstrated in this process once again highlights the Alliance’s deterrent strength.

President Erdoğan also stated that we continue our efforts towards a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine–Russia war.

During the call, President Erdoğan congratulated NATO on its 77th anniversary and expressed the expectation that the NATO Summit in Ankara on 7–8 July will take decisions to enhance the Alliance’s resilience and effectiveness in addressing future challenges.
