President Erdoğan marks TRT’s 62nd anniversary

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent a message of congratulations to Director General of the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), Prof. Mehmet Zahid Sobacı, on the occasion of TRT’s 62nd anniversary.

Noting that TRT has strived to fulfil its public broadcasting responsibility since its establishment, President Erdoğan extended his heartfelt congratulations on its 62nd anniversary and stated:

"Keeping pace with technological advancements, TRT has continuously enhanced the quality of its broadcasts and expanded its scope of activities. Today, with its full range of channels and multilingual services, it stands as a leading institution in the field of radio and television broadcasting.

Successfully adapting to the digital world and to evolving viewing and listening habits, TRT continues with determination to serve as the voice of our country, the memory of our nation, and a pioneer of responsible broadcasting.

TRT plays a vital role in carrying the vision of the Century of Türkiye into the field of broadcasting and in making our country’s rightful positions and our pursuit of justice heard more strongly across the international community. In the face of rising global disinformation, TRT has become an important reference point in international media through its commitment to truth-based broadcasting. The level it has attained today is a source of pride for our nation.

As an institution that has nurtured many distinguished professionals and serves as a school for the radio and television sector, I expect TRT to continue adding new successful, high-quality and original works that shape the direction of the industry.

On this occasion, I thank all members of the TRT family for their dedication and efforts. I firmly believe that TRT will continue its work with the same determination and resolve, and will remain a strong voice for our country, our nation, and all the oppressed.”
