Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, issued a statement, condemning the death penalty law adopted in the Israeli Parliament, which would apply solely to Palestinians.
In a post on his NSosyal account, Head of Communications Duran noted:
“I strongly condemn and denounce the death penalty law adopted in the Israeli Parliament, which would apply solely to Palestinians.
This so-called law, which we view as an extension of the genocide carried out against innocent people, is a clear example of oppression that disregards the rule of law, deepens discrimination and injustice, and seeks to legitimise the collective punishment of an entire people.
This step, which marks a new phase in the systematic pressure and violence against the Palestinian people, reveals the point that occupation policies have reached. This pathological mindset, shaped by racist and discriminatory practices, has no place either in law or in human values.
It is an unavoidable necessity for the international community not to remain silent in the face of this blatant unlawfulness and to take concrete steps in the name of justice, human rights, and universal values.
Under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Türkiye will continue, as always, to stand by the oppressed and against the oppressor. We believe that defending the just cause of our Palestinian brothers and sisters is a humanitarian responsibility.”
