Turkey has taken diplomatic actions after a large number of Palestinians had been martyred during protests against the relocation and inauguration of the US Embassy in Jerusalem.
Turkey prepares to take several steps including the declaration of 3-day mourning, calling for an emergency meeting of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and organization of large rallies in Istanbul and Diyarbakır to show solidarity with Palestinian people.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan commented on the matter in the UK during his official visit to the country. Meeting students studying in the UK as part of “Young Talent Development Project” jointly run by Anadolu Agency (AA) and TRT World, Erdoğan commented on current affairs during this event. Erdoğan spoke to Palestinian President Abbas by phone and he will hold talks with leaders, particularly UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
On the other hand, General Assembly of the Parliament will convene with a special agenda on Jerusalem. General Assembly of the United Nations will be called for a meeting with the initiative of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Moreover, necessary actions will be taken to evacuate the Palestinians injured during the protests in Gaza under the coordination of AFAD and Turkish General Staff.
