The statement added that 35 planes, 37 helicopters, 74 tanks, and three ships of the Turkish Armed Forces were used during the coup attempt of FETÖ.

Following are highlights from the statement of Turkish General Staff regarding the coup attempt of July 15:

-A total of 246 armoured vehicles including 74 tanks were used during the coup attempt.

-1.5 percent of the Turkish Armed Forces personnel took part in the coup attempt.

-Coup plotters used 35 planes and 37 helicopters.

-3 ships and 3 thousand 992 small arms were used.

-Coup plotters are FETÖ terrorists in military uniforms.

-8 thousand 651 personnel took part in the coup attempt.

-A total of 1,676 non-commissioned officers and soldiers, and 1,214 military students, joined the coup attempt.

The statement of TAF said the following:

''Turkish Armed Forces identified the personnel involved in the coup attempt of July 15 perpetrated by members of the illegal Gülenist Terrorist Organization nestled in TAF and dressed in military uniforms as well as the state-owned weaponry and equipment used by them.

The investigation revealed that there were a total of 8,651 members of illegal Gülenist Terrorist Organization (1,676 non-commissioned officers and soldiers, and 1,214 military students) in military uniforms acting against our nation, values, particularly the Turkish Grand National Assembly as well as all other institutions, and that this figure accounted for 1.5 percent of the current number of TAF personnel, which clearly demonstrates that a vast majority of Turkish military strongly opposed the heinous attack.”
