Deputy Premier Hakan Çavuşoğlu received on Tuesday a delegation of Pakistani press members who visited to Turkey for professional activities under a program organized by Directorate General of Press and Information (DGPI) at the headquarters of Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).

Cavusoglu said that he was pleased with the visit and relations between Turkey and Pakistan were deeply rooted and would continue to be so in the future.

“We know that while the political relations of the two countries are at a high level, the bilateral trade volume is far from the desired level. Turkey-Pakistan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council was established to increase the volume of bilateral trade and 5th meeting of the Council was gathered several months ago. Yunus Emre Institute, an important education body, had an opportunity to operate in the country thanks to Pakistan government.” he said.

After indicating that YTB, TIKA and the Yunus Emre Institute were continuing to implement various education and development projects in Pakistan and 1553 Pakistani students graduated from various Turkish universities so far, Cavusoglu continued, “Turkey currently hosts 1606 Pakistani students while more than 100.000 international students graduated from Turkish universities.”
